JEE Main 2025 Dress Code: The JEE Main 2025 will be conducted by NTA for admission to B.E/B. Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning courses. The registration process for JEE Main session 1 was concluded on 22 November 2024.

Candidates appearing for JEE Main 2025 examination in January and April session must be aware of the dress code related guidelines.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has put in place the JEE Main dress code guidelines for both male and female candidates to ensure uniformity and prevent any unfair practices during the exam.

JEE Main 2025 Dress Code Guidelines

Clothing

Light Clothes: Candidates should wear light-colored, comfortable, and simple clothes.

Avoid Fancy Clothing: Clothes with large buttons, ornaments, flowers, or any decorative material should be avoided.

Avoid Heavy or Dark-Colored Clothes: Avoid wearing clothes that could raise suspicion or might be difficult to check.

Full-Sleeved Clothes: Full-sleeved shirts or tops are allowed, but candidates are advised to wear clothes that are easy to inspect.

Sleeveless or Sleeveless Tops: Sleeveless tops or dresses are generally discouraged as they may cause delays during the security check.

Footwear

Closed Footwear: Candidates should wear comfortable closed-toe shoes (preferably flat shoes or sandals) as slippers or sandals with open toes may not be allowed.

Avoid Heels: High heels or shoes with a thick sole are generally not permitted. Flat footwear is recommended for easy movement and security checks.

Avoid Any Metallic Footwear: Footwear with metallic parts might be scrutinized in the security check.
Headwear:

Religious Headwear (Optional): Candidates who wear religious headwear (like turbans, scarves, etc.) are allowed to wear them. However, they must arrive well in advance to undergo proper security checks.

Hats, Caps, or Sunglasses: Not allowed unless they are worn for religious or medical reasons. In such cases, proper verification might be required.

Accessories and Jewelry

Minimal Accessories: It’s advised to avoid wearing jewelry, including rings, chains, bracelets, bangles, and earrings, as these can cause delays during security screening.

No Watches or Smartwatches: Candidates are strictly prohibited from wearing wristwatches (digital, analog, or smartwatches) during the exam.

No Metal Objects: Avoid carrying or wearing any metal objects that may raise security concerns. This includes items like belt buckles, pins, brooches, or badges.

Bags and Personal Items

No Bags or Personal Items Allowed: Candidates are not allowed to bring any bags, study material, or personal items into the exam hall. Items such as wallets, mobile phones, calculators, or any other electronic gadgets should not be brought into the exam center.

Stationery: Candidates should bring only the required stationery such as a pen (usually blue or black ballpoint), a pencil, and an eraser. It is advisable to check the specific instructions regarding stationery, as some centers provide materials.

Identification and Admit Card

The candidate must carry a printed copy of their JEE Main admit card along with a valid ID proof (Aadhaar card, Voter ID, Passport, etc.) to the exam center.

Candidate must paste a recent passport size photograph on the admit card.

Items not allowed at the Exam Centre

Electronic Devices

Candidates are informed that no mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices, or any other electronic gadgets are allowed inside the examination hall.

No Food Items Allowed

Candidates should not bring any food items or beverages inside the exam hall, unless it’s for medical reasons (in such a case, a prior approval from the exam center is required).

Guidelines for Female Candidates

Avoid Wearing Sarees as they may cause delays during the security check. It is advisable for the candidates to opt for simpler, comfortable attire.

Candidates wearing a dupatta or scarf, must make sure that it is simple and does not obstruct the examination process during security screening.
